Arch Angels® are an impressive and unique orthotic arch support for children. Arch Angel arch supports were created by two doctors who understand the special needs of a child’s growing feet. Arch Angels have a significant arch that provides ample support and effectively controls pronation but also has enough flexibility to be comfortably agreeable and relatively easy for children to get used to (especially when compared to some of our other higher and more rigid children’s arch supports).

Arch Angels are a plastic arch support encapsulated in a top and bottom layer of cushioning EVA foam. The arch support shell which gives Arch Angels their shape and support is made from Polyethylene which is a semi rigid plastic. Thick sheets of Polyethylene tend to be quite rigid but the plastic arch shell of the Arch Angels orthotic arch supports are very thin (about 1 millimeter) so they retain some flexibility. This is important because unlike some of our other rigid plastic orthotic arch supports, Arch Angels are a little more flexible which makes them more comfortable and easier for children to get used to while still providing significant support.

The plastic arch support shell of the Arch Angels orthotic arch support is covered on the top and bottom with a thermal plastic foam called Ethylene Vinyl Acetate or EVA for short. The EVA foam is light and soft and provides a very comfortable cushion cover for the plastic arch support. Also, EVA is a closed cell foam so it is non porous and won’t absorb sweat or water. Arch Angels arch supports can be washed with liquid hand soap or dishwashing detergent as often as need and can be easily and quickly dried with a towel and put right back into service.
