Birkobalance Arch Supports
The Birkobalance arch support is one of the classic arch supports from Birkenstock They have been making this product for years and it adds firm but gentle support to a wide range of shoes including casual, dress and athletic shoes. Birkobalance arch supports are constructed from Birkocork™, Birkenstock's unique and durable blend of natural cork and nylon. The Birkocork is molded into a highly contoured arch support shell and covered, on the top with perforated leather. The perforations promote air flow and breathability.

Birkenstock Birkobalance arch supports are highly contoured and support the complete foot, including the medial, lateral and metatarsal arch. The deep heel cup and high flanges cradle the foot and provide additional support by stabilizing the heel and reducing excess pronation (side to side rolling of the foot). Overall however, the Birkenstock Birkobalance arch support's contours are not so high as to be intrusive or uncomfortable.

Similarities and Differences between the Birkobalance and the Birkenstock Blue
The Birkobalance and the Birkenstock Blue arch supports have basically the same shape with an equally high medial, lateral and metatarsal arch but the Birkobalance are thicker so they feel a little more rigid and they are a little heavier. The added thickness (and hence rigidity) give the Birkobalance a little edge up in support over the Birkenstock Blue. Both arch supports have a deep heel cup and high flanges but since the Birkobalance arch supports are a little more firm, the heel cup and high flanges cradle the foot more significantly and provide more support to the heel and arch (than the Birkenstock Blue arch supports). Also, (again because the Birkobalance are a little thicker than the Birkenstock Blue) the medial, lateral and metatarsal arch and have less give so they provide a little more support to the foot than the Birkenstock Blue.
